a 10 week exploration into furniture making
Furniture Studio was one of the main reasons I chose UW to continue my architectural education. The process is so similar to architecture yet the feedback loop is so shortened that the satisfaction level was way more present for me.
Starting from rough sketches, to scale models, to full scale models led to the decision for its final dimensions.
The final product was a media console/credenza that was made using three sapele boards to highlight the wood grain cascading down the sides aka waterfall (ing). There is no hardware in any of the sliding doors or drawers to maintain the clean lines and to simplify installation.
